Seeking Full-Time IT Specialist in Kentucky

Kentucky Equine Research (KER), a global equine nutrition research company based in Versailles, Ky., is seeking a full-time IT specialist. We're looking for a capable team player who can keep this growing company running smoothly, direct our progress with IT innovations, oversee outsourcing, and fulfill the company's technology needs.

The KER IT specialist position will provide or oversee desktop support, system administration, web development, and design. The IT specialist will be the go-to person for computer technologies to make them work now, and to build for the future. This person will work to support all efforts of KER, including oversight of system administration for KER servers through outside vendor(s), maintain KER networks (data and phone), database management, maintain and support existing IT infrastructure, implement new technologies, provide assistance to KER employees and partners, and work with outside vendors.

This job is a full-time, salaried position with benefits based in Versailles, Ky. The IT specialist will be required to work regular hours in the KER office; it is not a long-distance position.

KER Associate Program

Love horses? Got lots of equine friends? Interested in equine nutrition?

If you answered an emphatic “Yes!” to all of those questions, then Kentucky Equine Research (KER) has an opportunity for you! KER will select potential candidates to travel to the KER research facility in Versailles, Ky., for training and orientation in preparation for the first commission-based team of nutrition advisors fielded by KER. These individuals will use their knowledge and KER resources and products to advise horse owners on how best to meet their horses’ nutritional needs and support optimal performance. KER Summer Internship

This summer program is offered yearly to 1-3 U.S. students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in equine nutritional research. Applicants must have completed at least two years of an undergraduate degree in animal or veterinary science (equine emphasis) or a similar degree. The internship is offered for a period of 3 months, normally during the summer (May - August). The intern will be based at the research facility in Versailles, Kentucky for the duration of the internship. Knowledge of basic horse care is necessary for this position. The application deadline for this position is February 15th of each year.

KER 12 Month Internship

Positions become available in July. This program is offered yearly to students or recent graduates who want to gain experience in equine nutrition research. The internship is offered for a period of 12 to 18 months, depending on the applicant's situation and time available. The intern will be based at the research facility in Versailles, Kentucky for the full duration of the internship. Previous horse experience is required for this position. The Closing date for all U.S. applications is March 15. Applications from outside the U.S. will be accepted until April 1.
