Longtime Kentucky Equine Research-sponsored rider Buck Davidson finished in fifth place in the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event in Lexington, April 27-31, with Carlevo, a 15-year-old Holsteiner gelding. Forty-five horses started the five-star competition.

Davidson and Carlevo started off the competition with an outstanding dressage test, which scored 27.4 from the three-person judging panel and landed the pair in third place. After a brilliant ride in the cross-country phase, they added only 10 time penalties to their score. On the third day, no jumping penalties but 1.2 time penalties gave the pair a final score of 38.6 and fifth place, soundly besting a seventeenth-place finish in 2021.

Carlevo has accomplished much in his three-day eventing career, with several top-ten finishes in the past, including a fifth place in the 2021 USEA American Eventing Championships $60,000 Advanced Final.

According to Davidson, “Kentucky Equine Research has always been the authority on feeding high-performance sport horses. I’ve always relied on KER-formulated feeds.”
