Riders sponsored by Kentucky Equine Research did well at the Melbourne International Three-Day Event, a competition that brought more than 200 entries to Werribee Park.

Kirilee Hosier of Scatterbrook Eventing and AEA Flynn earned second place in the Furphy Media CCI3*-L. The pair had their best-ever dressage score, a clear cross-country round, and one rail in the showjumping to earn reserve honors.

Kirilee is based in Warrandyte, two hours north of Werribee. “Since having Flynn’s diet fine-tuned by Kentucky Equine Research, he was the most rideable he has ever been in a dressage test and had enough energy to finish cross-country with plenty in the tank.”

Flynn is fed Sucralox, B-Quiet, Equi-Jewel, Restore and Synovate HA, as well as Barastoc Supreme.

Emily Gray of Emily Gray Equestrian made the trip from WA with Canterbury Tradesman and Legal Chase. The former placed sixth in the Furphy Media CCI3*-L, and the latter finished sixteenth in the Off The Track CCI2*-L, only his second time in a two-star competition.

“I’m so pleased with how these horses have made the journey and stayed focused. Neither of them has made this trip before or been to such a large event.”

Tradie is given EquiShure, Restore, Bio-Bloom HF, Equi-Jewel and feed from Pegasus.

Samantha Cesnik and Chris Height of Spring Creek Equine took five horses to the event. Two of the horses competed in the Horseland Young Horse Classes for four-year-olds, with Lucky Contender and Chris finishing seventh and Giovanni Georgio and Sam coming eighth. In the Off The Track CCI2*-L, a huge class, Sam earned sixth-place honors with Graftango, finishing on their dressage score. Further, in the same class, Chris and Sam finished inside the top 40, riding Rossatin and Quick Justice, respectively.

Spring Creek uses Restore, Equi-Jewel, EquiShure, Neigh-Lox, Bio-Bloom HF, as well as Barastoc Supreme and Low GI Cube.
