KER-sponsored driver Chester Weber was presented the Becky Grand Hart Trophy at the recent Pegasus Awards ceremony, part of US Equestrian’s 2019 Annual Meeting.

The Becky Grand Hart Trophy is awarded to the best competitor of any horse or pony breed in international driving, endurance, reining, vaulting or para-equestrian competitions. Chester was recognized for his remarkable 2018 competition year, including earning an individual silver medal and leading the United States to its first-ever team gold in combined driving at the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games™.

Chester has had a long collaboration with Kentucky Equine Research. Leading up to the World Equestrian Games, Chester worked closely with company president Joe Pagan, Ph.D, to optimize his horses’ feeding programs and conditioning regimens. Weber chooses Restore® SR to ensure his horses meet their electrolyte requirements, EquiShure® to promote efficient digestion, and All-Phase® as the foundation of his custom-blended feed program.

He also used KER ClockIt™, a mobile app developed by Kentucky Equine Research to measure equine heart rate and response to exercise. Kentucky Equine Research interns in Ocala helped Weber use ClockIt to monitor and optimize his conditioning program in preparation for WEG and future competitions.

“Having a team member like KER on your side is really invaluable because they take away the worry of staying on top of the latest in equine nutrition,” explained Weber. “I trust the experts at Kentucky Equine Research.”
