Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber, owners of Watership Down Stud, had an exciting day at Doncaster when two siblings they bred and own ran successfully in Group races.

A two-year-old colt, Too Darn Hot, was exactly that when he won the Group 2 Champagne Stakes on only his third start. Thirty minutes later, his three-year-old sister Lah Ti Dar was second in Group 1 St Leger Stakes, the final European classic race of the season. In only her fourth start, she was beaten just two lengths by the much more experienced Kew Gardens. She may have one last run on Champions Day at Ascot on 20 October.

Watership Down Stud also bred the dam of these two siblings, who was a very smart race mare herself, and to have them both racing on the same day in such high-class races is unusual. A yearling full brother sells on Day 2 of Book 1 and is causing a good bit of excitement and anticipation. There is much to look forward to, and a lot of pride felt for the fantastic teams at both Watership Down and Kiltinan Castle Studs, who we have been lucky enough to work with for the last 16 years.
