Gatting Scores Makybe Diva Stakes Win

Gatting scored an impressive Group 1 win in Melbourne during the recent October spring racing carnival with a huge run in the Makybe Diva Stakes (1600mm) at Flemington.

Gatting is trained by leading WA trainer Darren McAuliffe and his team at Impressive Racing. Darren has held the horse in high regard, and has a lot of faith in his ability, which made Gatting’s Group 1 win very rewarding for his trainer. Gatting had shown great form in the 2018-2019 Perth Racing Summer Carnival, running second in the Group 1 Kirin Railway Stakes (1600m) and fourth in the Group 1 Magic Millions Kingston Town Classic. He also records the 2017 Schweppes WATC Derby among his major race wins. In claiming his Group 1 victory, Gatting defeated the talented mare Mystic Journey in the Makybe Diva Stakes.

Gatting, like all the horses in the Impressive Racing Stable, is fed on Pegasus Studmaster. It is fantastic to see a WA horse, trained by a WA trainer, and fuelled by WA feeds, performing so well in the eastern states against elite company.
