Over the past weeks, international teams have been placing their orders for the feed and forage they’re planning to use at WEG. They have two options for how to handle their orders.

Teams can select an all-inclusive package or an a la carte approach.

The all-inclusive is a flat rate of $500 per horse, which covers the duration of their stay. This includes a daily allocation of nutrition products including: forage (hay, haylage, or chaff), feeds, cereal grains, supplements, and treats. This also includes assistance with preparation of documentation for importation of feeds transported with horses.

The a la carte is for those who expect to bring the majority of their horse’s nutrition products with them, such as those with horses originating from locations within North America. For these, a selection of hay, feeds, grains, supplements, and treats are available for purchase on the venue.

Feeds included in the all-inclusive have to ship out from our consolidation point in the UK in early August. To enable us to get this order and paperwork ready by the shipment date, teams had to register and pre-order by July 1. This is tricky, as many teams weren’t yet finalized by this date! Some amount of guesswork resulted, and we’re now trading some items between teams to ensure the horses actually coming have the correct feeds.
