Summer’s over, at least for the Kentucky Equine Research class of 2022 summer interns. The three students, all of whom completed a three-month internship, are now headed back to their universities to finish up degrees and pursue graduate programs.

Savea Zimmerman-Cameron, from Little Falls, Minnesota, is beginning her senior year this fall at the University of Minnesota-Crookston. She is majoring in equine science with a pre-vet concentration and minoring in animal science. As she wraps up her undergraduate studies, Savea plans to apply to graduate programs to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

Kady Leusink, who hails from Lamars, Iowa, is a senior at Iowa State University, where she is majoring in animal science with a pre-vet concentration. After graduation in 2023, Kady wants to continue her education at Iowa State’s College of Veterinary Medicine.

Lydia Owens, from Pickens, South Carolina, is returning to Clemson University this fall where she is a senior majoring in animal science with a concentration in animal agribusiness. Following graduation, Lydia will be applying to graduate programs to pursue a degree in equine nutrition.
