At the conclusion of the first week of the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018, we can take a look at the feed, forages, and treats used thus far.

We have delivered:

  • 1093 bags of finished feed
  • 107 bags of grains

Of the grains, whole oats and rolled oats are similarly popular, while steam-crimped oats are less frequently requested. We have also delivered cracked corn, flax seed, rolled barley, sugar beet pulp shreds, and wheat bran.

We have also delivered 2,945 bales of hay. We’re offering two cuttings of timothy, as well as alfalfa and orchardgrass. The timothy is by far the most popular, with a nearly 50-50 split between the first- and second-cutting varieties.

The heat and humidity have increased the demand for electrolytes. We’re offering powder and paste versions of our electrolyte products, as well as traditional salt blocks. So far we’ve distributed 73 of our 600g packs of powder (typically a 20-serving supply for a single horse) as well as several larger containers (shared among larger teams), and 233 tubes of paste electrolytes. Five-pound white salt blocks were selected by 86 users.

Judging by the 1,300 treat orders, there are some happy horses in Tryon. These deliveries included:

  • 137 bushel boxes of apples (40 lb each)
  • 253 bags of apples (5 lb)
  • 453 large bags of carrots (25 lb)
  • 441 small bags of carrots (5 lb)
  • And 15 REALLY big bags of carrots—50 lb!

That’s 21,025 lb of treats, or 10.5 tons. Yum!
