A little over 24 hours after the rain associated with the-storm-formerly-known-as-Hurricane Florence first arrived, the venue is soggy but manageable. The conditions have required some unfortunate rescheduling and cancellation of events, but the feed and forage team is powering on undeterred.

One adjustment has been our method of delivery. We typically pick and deliver individual orders, running them to the stables on open golf carts or utility vehicles. This venue is quite large, so the trek can take several minutes—a long time, when your hay or feed is getting rained on! Instead, we’re collecting multiple orders for each barn into larger delivery runs and trundling it over in our enclosed box truck, then using hand carts to pop it into the stables.

WEG 2018 feed deliveryPolk County officials said they were expecting a total of 6 to 10 inches of rain associated with the storm.
