Olympic athletes, World Equestrian Games riders, state champions, and other accomplished equestrians convened at the Australian Jumping Championships, held at the Boneo Park Equestrian Center, 2-6 February.

Charlee Dobbin claimed the Australian Children’s Championship with Lovegrove and also finished in twelfth place with Glenshea Riversong.

“Winning the Australian titles is like a dream come true. This has been my goal for so many years,” Charlee said. “I’ve had Lovegrove for over four years. It took some time to get used to his few quirks and his own technique, but now I really understand him. Knowing that we’d won was the best feeling!”

“Going into the final day proved extremely nerve-racking,” explained Ange Dobbin, Charlee’s mother. “We were just trying to keep Charlee confident. When she came out of the ring, she had tears streaming down her face and that set me off, knowing how much this win meant to her.”

In addition to this impressive championship, family member Brook Dobbin placed sixth in the Open 115cm with Velvet Care and third in the Open 110cm with Devos.

At its Glenwood Park, the Dobbin family relies on Bio-Bloom® HFB-Quiet®Drink-Up™EquiShure®Glucos-A-Flex®Nano-Q10™Neigh-Lox®Restore®, and Equi-Jewel® to ensure its horses are getting the nutrition they require to perform at the top.

In the Senior Championships, Amanda Ross claimed a top-15 finish with RLE Poynstown Will, known as Vendi, a one-time 3* eventer that contested his first World Cup competition in March 2021.

“I’m thrilled with the result from my first Senior Championship. There were a few boxes I wanted to tick—feel confident in each round, qualify for the final, and maybe get a sash,” Amanda said. “We managed to tick all three! Both Vendi and I learned a lot, and came away with more confidence from the experience. I can’t wait for the next big show!”

Amanda uses an array of KER products for her horses, including Bio-Bloom® HFEO-3™Equi-Jewel®EquiShure®, and Restore®.

Diamond B Stud earned several top placings at the championships. Diamond B Vivienne, ridden by Amanda Madigan, earned a top-five finish in the Senior Championship. Future plans for the mare include a trip to Germany after the Royal Sydney Show in hopes of qualifying for the World Equestrian Games.

“Team Diamond B had a fabulous national championships, especially with our main girl Vivienne. We learn something more every time she steps into the ring, and she is developing into a real Grand Prix jumper,” said Helen Chugg of Diamond B Stud.

“Our young horses also wore ribbons and gained valuable experience. We are indeed lucky to have a truckload of homebred horses that we love,” she continued.

Also for Diamond B, Amanda placed sixth in the Open 125cm with Diamond B Beyonce and fifteenth in the Open 120cm with Oaks Evergreen TS.
