Kentucky Equine Research is excited to announce that it will be a part of the vendor fair at this year’s Thoroughbred Makeover, to be held October 11-14 at the Kentucky Horse Park. The company will occupy booths 33 and 34, located in the covered arena. If you are at the event, be sure to stop by to speak with a nutritionist, ask about our KER Targeted Nutrition products, and inquire about our latest published research.

As the world leaders in equine nutrition, the company is committed to being an educational resource for horse owners. The Thoroughbred breed holds a special place in our hearts, as nearly all members of our research herd are off-track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs). There are numerous resources available in our Equinews library detailing caring for OTTBs, such as this webinar on feeding OTTBs. Additionally, Kentucky Equine Research has engaged in years of research monitoring factors affecting growth of Thoroughbred foals and has covered this topic in talks around the world.

The Retired Racehorse Project, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, created the Thoroughbred Makeover to showcase the trainability and talent of off-track Thoroughbreds. The competition is intended to inspire good trainers to become involved in transitioning these horses to second careers, and the National Symposium serves to educate the people involved in the care, training, and sales of these horses to responsible owners. The Thoroughbred Makeover event is the only national gathering of the organizations, trainers, and farms dedicated to serving these horses when they retire from racing.

All event details can be found on the Retired Racehorse Project’s website.
